Welcome to the WYO west
Sept. 28 - Oct. 1, 2023 | Sheridan, WY
The WYO Film Festival was founded in 2018 in Sheridan, Wyoming. The festival enters its sixth year as an emerging fest in the American west, providing a unique and intimate atmosphere to showcase some of the most exciting films and filmmakers of all experience levels. The best part? We’ve ditched the red carpets in favor of an intimate and laid-back festival experience where filmmakers and festival-goers can connect over the three-day fest in celebration of all things film.
Why we exist
We're dedicated to building community around the celebration of independent film.
FOR THE FUN OF FILM
We organize social events and parties throughout the weekend to provide filmmakers and festival-goers an opportunity to connect over the love of film.
We're committed to growing the next generation of Wyoming filmmakers, which is why we started the Future Filmmaker program in collaboration with WYO PLAY.
We're committed to providing a platform for diverse voices. Our programming features unique stories worth sharing from different perspectives.
The WYO Film Festival receives hundreds of film submissions each year from around the world, which are narrowed down to the best selections representing a wide variety of styles and genres from documentary features and short films, to music videos and animation. Here is a breakdown of our programming from the 2022 festival.
